On a HackerNews post a couple weeks ago you mentioned that your dad knew Teller and von Neumann. Has he ever described anything in particular about those men that made them particularly unique? For von Neumann especially his superhuman memory is considered a bit apocryphal by some so it would be interesting to hear if your dad has any interesting stories from those times.
My Dad mentioned that John von Neumann would work late at night and also that he often played music loudly in his office. Teller was a good friend of my Dad’s, but no specific stories about Teller’s work habits.
Hello Jans, my Dad taught Physics at Berkeley and later in life became a physical oceanographer and was the attached to Scripts Institute of Oceanography.
